What happened to Fabio Capello’s claim about learning the lingo?

“I am convinced that in one month I will be able to speak the language and it will not be a problem.”
Those were the words spoken by Don Fabio (albeit in his native Italian) when he first arrived in England at the tail end of last year – but more than three months later and we’re still listening to him through his dour faced translator.
Since he’s a known intellectual who famously picked up Spanish in a short time during his first spell at Real Madrid and was thought to already have a basic grasp of the Queen’s language – shouldn’t the hard-faced Italian at least be able putting his money where his mouth is in English by now?
