Gago’s best was not pretty darn good, Dickie. Against the Almeria’s and Getafe’s of the world, yes, he was starter worthy. Conversely, have you seen his performances against clubs with talent? Such as, say, Roma or Liverpool in the Champions league? He is not decisive in possession, does not tackle well, and is constantly bullied in midfield by better talent. He would get destroyed in the Premiership. He would be best served in a slow league like Seria A, or back in South America.
