Birmingham City sign Fabrice Muamba. Good bit of business?
Birmingham City’s squidgy-nosed boss Steve Bruce has pulled off a bit of a coup by snapping up Arsenal loanee Fabrice Muamba on a permanent basis. The 19-year-old has been one of the stars of the Blues promotion season. Arsene Wenger had previously indicated that Muamba would not be allowed to leave the Emirates permanently.
The energetic midfielder has signed on a three-year deal for an undisclosed fee (presumably to save Wenger’s blushes unless Birmingham chairman David Gold has used his porn millions to pay over the odds!). If he maintains his current form I wouldn’t be surprised to see him knocking on the door of the England squad by the end of next season. A good buy, Pies fans?

He’s nowhere near ready for England. Good business from Arsenal’s point of view. It’s suggested the deal is £2m plus a potential further £2m depending on all those things they talk about.
For a kid that was getting nowhere near the Arsenal first team for at least a season or two that’s not bad.
Have to agree with arse – too soon to talk about international caps, although he’s obviously talented.
If he keeps up his form of the last few weeks at Premier League level I don’t see how he could be overlooked.
That’s a huge ask. There’s a world of difference between the Championship and the Premiership. He’s very raw, he’s very good physically but he has a long way to go technically before he gets anywhere near the England squad.
Since when did you need good technique to play for England!!!
Wait, isn’t he Congolese? Thought I read that somewhere.
Fight fight fight!
