Already up on bail awaiting trial in June on charges of assault, Newcastle striker Nile Ranger has got himself into even more trouble.

On Monday night, the 20-year-old was arrested outside a casino in Newcastle after breaching his bail conditions which stated that he was banned from the city centre.

Ranger appeared in court on Tuesday and was set to go on trial on Wednesday (before the same magistrates) on a charge of being drunk and disorderly.

Remember, this is the same guy who consciously agreed to have a smiley face tattooed on his inner lip, has been photographed posing with a gun and was also fined by the FA at the beginning of the month for making homophobic Tweets.

A ‘forgotten man’ at Newcastle, the youngster’s chances with the club must surely be coming to an end? Unfortunately, he doesn’t seem to grasp just how lucky he is.

What’s with Newcastle and ex-convicts? Joey Barton, now this guy?

  2. QPR says:

He was also pictured posing with a gun.

The guy is a loser, he will end up in prison at some point. Sadly some club will still give him a contract when he comes out.

  3. Chris says:

Maybe this is a dumb question, but why haven’t Newcastle sacked him yet? He’s plainly not good enough to justify putting up with this endless garbage.

Cool name but a bloody idiot. Non league obscurity beckons…..

  5. AT says:

Pretty much every time i have been to this casino he has been there, throwing chips around like there is no tomorrow.
Used to think he was a good player, but obviously hasn’t got his head down and concentrated, shame really.
Just an example of a young player who looks at the ££££s rather than the chance to make something more of his career, good player when he wants to be too.

    @ Arsenesbrasso

You’d think so but unfortunatly there will always be a club who decides its ‘worth a risk’.

Maybe its time the fa step in and refuse these players licences to play football.

    Never gonna happen though.

  7. Alex (nufc fan) says:

Are we debating why a club managed by a man with gambling debts to the owner hasn’t sacked a player with a criminal record?
