Cardiff’s first-ever season in the Premier League will end with a disappointing whimper after the Bluebirds were relegated on Saturday at St. James’ Park. The hosts have been struggling themselves lately, with some of the home fans staging a walk out in the second-half to protest against the club’s owner Mike Ashley and manager Alan Pardew. However, the Magpies still managed to produce a decent display which saw Shola Ameobi score in the first half before Loic Remy and Steven Taylor netted late on against a woefully limp Cardiff side.

Vincent Tan’s sacking of Malkay Mackay proved to be one of the worst decision of the season in the top tier, with Ole Gunnar Solskjaer having zero positive impact. A season back in the Championship now awaits Tan and co, while Newcastle’s fans will be hoping for a big spending summer.
