Michael Owen 50/50 for comeback against Chelsea on Sunday
Michael Owen has a 50/50 chance of appearing against Chelsea on Sunday, according to Newcastle manager Glenn Roeder. Owen has been out of action since picking up a knee ligament injury in England’s World Cup match against Sweden last June.
Roeder said: “He is 50-50, but he will not return until in my opinion he is in pristine condition – and he has had a slight groin strain which he picked up in shooting practice at the end of last week. His groin is a bit sore, but that is what happens when players have been out for a long time, they pick up niggles in other parts of their body.”
Let’s hope he is back to his best when he does return. Click below to see some of Little Mickey Owen’s best bits (and that doesn’t include his niggly groin!).

In my opinion, before his injuries started he was the best striker in the world. It’s a real shame what happened to him really, I hope he can find his form again … and maybe take it back to anfield!
He went to Real for all the wrong reasons. He should have stayed at Anfield.
