The Barcelona of the north-east cruised to a routine win against relegation-threatened Scunthorpe, with two goals by Andy Carroll and one from Peter Lovenkrands. Those two are turning into a hugely important strike-force for the Magpies.
So Newcastle move four points clear at the top of the Championship again - they also have a 12-point lead over third-placed Nottm Forest, and would really have to self-destruct not to gain one of the two automatic promotion spots this season.
