The 17th of September, 2007 proved to be a rare good day for Derby at Pride Park when débutante Kenny Miller scored the only goal of the game to secure three points against Newcastle.

It would be the only game the Rams won in the Premier League all season – and it was a truly, shockingly bad season! The worst ever, in fact…

Derby’s final league record read Won: 1/Drew: 8/Lost: 29/Goals for: 20/Goals against: 89, which gave the club an overall goal difference of -69, and a final points tally of 11.

It was a record low points total, with Derby also claiming the unwanted record of the earliest relegation – the club’s fate was confirmed on the 29th of March, with six games still to play.

At least distraught Rams fans reading this may take some comfort from taking a look at that Miller goal again, as it was a lovely strike…
