It’s tough being a Newcastle United fan this season, with Steve McClaren’s disastrous stewardship dragging the north-east giants down into the bottom three.

For one member of the Toon Army, eager to welcome new manager Rafa Benitez ahead of the Tyne-Wear derby, there was yet another plummet in store, as she suffered a rather embarrassing fall.

Holding aloft her “Rafa – Welcome To The Toon Army’ homemade banner at St. James’ Park on Sunday, the unfortunate fan tripped over the sizeable creation before tumbling down a number of steps…

(UPDATE: Turns out the video is actually from last week’s game away at Leicester. In hindsight, the blue seats were a bit of a give away!)

Still, our minor error aside, St. James’ Park still witnessed its fair share of fan fails on Sunday regardless.
