Upon the rubbishly tragic news of his untimely death, Pies thought it only proper to pay tribute to the late Cheick Tiote in the only we could proffer forth – by once again revisiting his utterly brilliant goal against Arsenal in 2011.

You all know the context: Newcastle 0-4 down at half-time, 2-4 down in the 75th minute, and 3-4 down in the 87th.

Then, with the game beginning to dwindle, Tiote pops up on the edge of the box and rattles this little beauty past Wojciech Szczesny from 25 yards…

Tiote only ever scored one competitive goal in 156 appearances for Newcastle. This was that.

The man may have left us far too prematurely but his finest contribution to the great footballing pantheon will never, ever be forgotten.

Blimey, I’d forgotten it was on the volley as well…

    God bless Cheick.
