COLD WAR UPDATE: Russians target Michael Owen’s knee

20th, July 2007

cold%20war.jpgMichael Owen’s knee could become embroiled in the diplomatic row between England and Russia over the extradition of a Russian spy for the poisoning of Alexander Litvinenko. With the two countries currently enjoying a game of pass-the-diplomat, it seems those crafty Russians might just have the upper hand.
Showing excellent foresight of the bust-up to follow, Russia arranged for the Euro 2008 qualifier against England to be played on an artificial pitch at Torpedo Moscow’s 84,000-seater Luzhniki Stadium. It has proved to be a wise move as it could rule Michael Owen and his dodgy knee out of tie. Little Mickey said: “I hope my knee holds up to an artificial pitch. Most people that have done their knee in the past say stay away from them.” EXTRADITE THE GROUNDSMAN!
