Newcastle Defender Steven Taylor Out For Three Months With Shoulder Injury
By Chris Wright
Newcastle have seen their Premier League plans rocked by an injury to centre-back Steven Taylor, that will see him sidelined for at least the first three months of the season.
Taylor dislocated his left shoulder during a pre-season friendly against Carlisle a fortnight ago and, following surgery yesterday, is not expected to return to the first team fold until early November.
The 24-year-old defender was making his first appearance for Newcastle since rupturing his knee ligaments in January which means that, by the time he recovers from his latest set-back, Taylor will have spent a total of ten months on the treatment table.
