Did Big Sam Allardyce ditch his three-pronged attack too soon?

owen viduka.jpgTactical genius Kevin Keegan has come across a brilliant plan to improve Newcastle’s prospects. KK has simply stuck his club’s three star strikers up front and the Magpies have instantly transformed from relegation strugglers to free-scoring mid-table coasters. Obafemi Martins, Michael Owen and Mark Viduka each bagged a goal in a 3-0 win over Reading, which followed last week’s 1-4 win at Tottenham.
But members of the Toon Army with a half-decent memory will recall that Big Sam Allardyce was trying to get Newcastle playing this system way back at the start of the season. Is Keegan’s charisma bringing the best out of the players? Or can Allardyce sit smug knowing that he would be taking the plaudits for the recent success of his squad if he was still in charge?
