Snapshot: Sanfrecce Hiroshima Celebrate Goal With Touching Tribute To 3.11 Tsunami Victims

We know what you’re thinking: you wait ages for a Sanfrecce Hiroshima then two come along at once. Bloody typical!

Anyway, on the third anniversary of the tsunami that devastated Japan back in 2011, the Hiroshima players constructed a really rather brilliant goal celebration tribute to the victims after notching against Central Coast Mariners in the AFC Champions League yesterday – with the entire team laying down on the turf to display the date (March, 2011) that the disaster hit the club’s home city…

As a bit of added poignancy, Hiroshima midfielder Yojiro Takahagi apparently lost his grandmother in the aftermath of the tragedy.
