Snapshot: The Official 2014 Chivas Guadalajara Team Photo Is A Thing Of True Beauty…

By Chris Wright

You know you’ve stumbled across your new favourite Mexican club when you find that they’re official 2014 team photo features all of their players and staff dressed head-to-toe in traditional “charro” suits while stood saluting in an agave field somewhere in Jalisco…

Apparently the “staged team photo” is a bit of a tradition down around Chivas way, with the 2010 edition seeing all the players, coaches and back-roomers all dressing up as hardcore Chivas fans (complete with drums, trombones, banners and facepaint) and lining themselves up on the terraces at their home stadium…

Look at little Chicharito in the middle there! He’s having such a super fun day, bless ‘im!

  1. Matt Daug says:

Way to go Chivas! I’ve never seen a club play so heavily towards a stereotype. ¬°Buen trabajo!

  2. Hasselhof says:

Stereotype? how about national tradition. It’s no different them Bayern Munich dressed in lederhosen for Oktoberfest.

  3. Hootie says:

    *their official

  4. Jorge says:

Stereotype? Give me a break. Matt Daug stick to what you know, because it’s obviously not Mexican culture.

  5. JT says:

Except that the Mexican organization representing all things charro is pretty unhappy with the photo.
