20th anniversary of Hillsborough disaster

It has been announced that, as a mark of respect on the 25th anniversary of the Hillsborough disaster, that every single football match in the Premier League, Football League, Football Conference and the FA Cup semi-final between Wigan and Arsenal will kick-off seven minutes later than usual.

Why seven minutes? Well, we’re fairly sure we don’t have to tell you but the match at which the disaster took place, the FA Cup semi between Liverpool and Nottingham Forest, was ended six minutes after kick-off – at 3:06pm.

This means that, at 3:06pm, every game in England across the weekend of 11th-14th April will observe a minute’s silence in memory of Hillsborough before kicking off at 3:07pm, which, in Pies’ humble opinion, is a wonderfully fitting gesture.

Fixtures kicking off at other times (i.e, not 3pm) on Friday 11th, Saturday 12th, Sunday 13th and Monday 14th April will all observe the same etiquette, with matches kicking-off seven minutes later than originally scheduled.

Good decision by FA, EPL, etc.

Seriously, again? Are we doing a minutes silence for every mistake West Yorkshire Met commited that day?
Commemorating the time the game was called off(!?) sounds like just another platitude by the FA, who act like a PR machine for football intergrating itself with the modern world, rather than a serious governing body.

the minutes silence is for those who lost their lives, not the mistakes

    F&*k right off, Joe.

It’s all a bit over the top isn’t it? Again.

Joe & Fudge, pair of retards!!! Not exactly over the top if any of your family had merely attended a game of football and never come home.

Idiots like you should keep your draconian and idiotic opinions to yourselves.
