Proving that great strikers never really lose the scoring touch, Helsingborgs manager Henrik Larsson subbed himself on and helped himself to a goal in his side’s 7-1 friendly thrashing of IFK Malmo (not *that* Malmo, but the recently-promoted fourth divisioners) on Wednesday evening.

Larsson, now 43, returned to manage Helsingborgs ahead of the 2015 Allsvenskan season after spending two separate stints at the club during his playing days. He also currently oversees a squad that includes his 17-year-old son Jordan.

With his side 6-1 up and cruising after 66 minutes against Malmo, the boss decided he fancied a run out for old time’s sake…

Larsson duly went on to score his side’s seventh and final goal in the 88th minute, though he was quick to deflect attention after the final whistle.

“You never get tired of scoring goals,” he told Expressen. “Yes, it was fun, but it’s not all about me.”

What a hero.

UPDATE: We’ve managed to stumble across a video of Henke’s goal, and a decent little strike it was too…
