It’s official. The FIFA congress has spoken and Gianni Infantino will be the man to succeed Sepp Blatter at the top of the shop.
Infantino saw off stiff competition from Sheikh Salman to secure election with 115 of the 207 votes. This after the ballot went on for a second round.
So, the new face of FIFA is one of Michel Platini’s old lackeys. We’ll have 60-team World Cups before you know it!
