FK Nizna may well have beaten Tatran Chelbnice 3-1 in the Slovakian 5. Liga a few days ago but the real result came shortly before kick-off.
In what surely must be a footballing first, Nizna defender Lubomir Vajdecka provided the pre-match entertainment when he got down on one knee and proposed to the lineswoman on duty, Petra Lepackova.
Lepackova, it’s probably worth pointing out at this juncture, is Vajdecka’s long-term girlfriend.
She said yes and (presumably) ever offside call went FK Nizna’s way for the ensuing 90 minutes.
