By way of an apology for their performance/mark of their appreciation (delete as you see fit), the Norwich City squad have announced that they are clubbing together to reimburse the Canaries fans who travelled to Wales only to watch their side go down 3-0 to Swansea on Saturday.

The Norwich players have agreed to refund the admission price (£20 adults/£10 concessions) for each of the 899 Norwich fans who made the 612-mile round-trip in what the club are calling a “special one-off thank-you to the Yellow Army for their fantastic support home and away this season.”

Club captain Russell Martin told Norwich’s official website:

“Our fans have been brilliant home and away this season and the numbers we get on the road are really impressive when you consider how far they have to travel up and down the country from Norfolk.

“All the lads really felt for the fans at the end of Saturday’s game, with most of them facing something like a six-hour drive home. Hopefully this will help them with the cost of travelling to our next away game at Fulham”.

As gestures go, it’s certainly not the worst we’ve ever seen.
