You might think that Ireland are out of it after this result, but I didn’t see anything from the French that should scare the Irish in the return leg – Ireland can win in France, just as the French completed a smash-and-grab raid in Dublin on Saturday evening. And after the graceless behaviour of Lassana Diarra (he reportedly insulted Keith Andrews) , I hope Trap’s lads find a way to do just that. An eary goal for the Irish would definitely rattle France, but of course Terry Henry and co. are now strong favourites to qualify for South Africa.

it’s THIERRY Henry, don’t you know that ?
I agree with you, the irish can win, a couple of Dunne headers will do

  2. kaya says:

The Irish can win in France just like the US can beat Spain… it could happen but it probably won’t.

  3. Seany says:

Ironic that the man to insult the Irish was quite frankly the worst player on the pitch bar none!!! Andrews and Whelan looked world class in comparison

  4. kritter says:

haha Bono i can’t tell you how many mugs i’ve seen say “terry henry” and don’t know the difference

  5. kritter says:

OH NO! a footballer insulted another footballer??? heaven forbid! i bet ireland get really pissed and win. Come on. France is 10000% better than Ireland.

Maybe the French are bitter because of this: http://bit.ly/259yOs – it’s an article on the Right2Bet campaign website showing how much money the French would have lost from their winnings if they had bet on the game. I’d be pretty gutted too if I was getting crappy odds just because of where I’m from! Pretty topical at the moment given Paddy Power’s recent foray into the French gambling market.

There’s a petition on the Right2Bet site to get fairer rules across the EU, which will get presented to the EU Commission once it reaches 1million.

Bono and kritter. Are you for real? You think so many people are that stupid? You American? Try irony / nickname

  8. Sinead says:

Definitely agree think Ireland are still have a chance wouldn’t write us off just yet! We’re at 6/1 with the bookies to win
