FA Cup Photos: Bristol City 1-1 Cardiff City – Gavin Williams rescues the Robins in the snow

By Ollie Irish

In freezing conditions, and with fresh snow falling before kick-off, this fixture was almost called off. But credit to Bristol City’s groundstaff, who did a terrific job in turning out a playable pitch.

Credit too to the players, who worked their socks off in very difficult conditions – Cardiff did just enough to leave Ashton Gate with the win, but Gavin Williams’ injury-time equaliser forced a replay that no one could deny the home side earned; ironically, Williams is a lifelong Bluebirds fan.
