Cristiano Ronaldo has been a busy boy of late, both opening a museum and an entire social media network dedicated to his favouritest subject in the whole wide world: Cristiano Ronaldo.
Ronaldo’s ‘CR7 Museum’ in his hometown of Funchal on the Portuguese island of Madeira had its big opening on Sunday, with the man himself doing the honours before letting the first batch of fans in for a shufty.
Real Madrid also sent a photographer along, providing the club’s website with a photographic tour of the displays on offer, including various photos, a life-size waxwork, his 26 hat-trick matchballs and Cristiano’s vast personal trophy haul – though, rather tellingly, the display cabinet actually has a space specifically left in it for the 2013 Ballon d’Or.
Indeed, speaking to the press at the function, Ronaldo told Reuters: “I have room for more trophies. I don’t really want to mention specific ones. All I want is to win more awards and, if the Ballon d’Or comes, there is extra room here.”
