It’s been a while so we figured it was high time to have a good old-fashioned nosey around a ground and what better place to revive the series than in Grimsby?
Oi! Quiet, you.
The Mariners have been docked at Blundell Park since 1899, though only one of the original stands, The Main Stand (finished in 1901), remains to this day with the general consensus being that the stand, or at least the central block which houses the tunnel and the dressing rooms, was the oldest surviving in the Football League up until the club dropped into the Conference in 2010.
Much like the town of Grimsby itself, Blundell Park is a football ground with a noticeably aquatic theme but that’s enough rambling from us – anyway, have a shufty around the place and then we’ll meet you in the Five Star Fish Suite for a swift ale afterwards…
