As cricket fans and human beings in general across the world continue to mourn the tragic death of Australian batsman Phillip Hughes, social media has been awash with solemn and touching tributes.
Hughes passed away after being struck in the neck by a fast bowl during a domestic match in Sydney.
He was knocked unconscious by the impact and sadly never woke up, dying in hospital two days later. He was just 25-years-old.
In tribute, people are using the #putoutyourbats hashtag to offer their respects, with fans leaving their cricket bats stood up in a show of sympathy and condolence.
The football world is no different, with various clubs announcing minute’s silences this weekend as well as offering their very own “put out your bats” tributes.

We’ll add more as and when they come rolling in.
