As knocked up by the chaps over on the La Casaca blog as part of a fantasy collaboration with Nike, here are a cavalcade of pre-existing football strip designs (think Barcelona, PSG, etc) infused with famous works by some of the most famous names in the art world.
Each individual shirt is inspired by an artist who’s life or work is pertinent to that particular country or city – and they’re all bloody wonderful.
Just have a butcher’s at these little beauties…
Netherlands (Vincent van Gogh – The Starry Night)
Barcelona (Joan Miro – Man And Dog In The Sun)
Boca Juniors (Benito Quinquela Martin – Workday)
New York Cosmos (Jackson Pollock – Autumn Rhythm)
PSG (Claude Monet – Bastille Day)
Malaga (Pablo Picasso – Sylvette)
Exquisite work. Told you they were beautiful!
Come on Nike, make it happen. You’re basically leaving money on the table if you don’t get your collective arses in gear and make these wonderful things a reality.
