Over 2,100 fans watched Mezokovesd-Zsory beat Puskas Academy 2-0 in the Hungarian top flight over the weekend.
However, we can only assume that the attendance tally doesn’t include the travelling Puskas fans, who weren’t overly animated during the match.
That was largely because, in lieu of any actual travelling support, Mezokovesd simply installed a terrace full of cardboard cut-outs in the away section…

The lack of away support can perhaps be explained by the 400km round trip between Felcsut (where Puskas are based) and Mezokovesd’s Varosi Stadion, a long-enough journey that also involves driving through the capital city of Budapest.
As well as being bottom of the league, Puskas are also effectively the youth team of Videoton – or ‘Vidi’ as they are now known – meaning that most of their squad are Under-23 reserves, hence their inability to draw big crowds.
