Enjoy this photo blog of South Africa v Mexico, the opening game of the 2010 World Cup. Annoyed by the vuvuzelas yet?

FULL-TIME: 1-1 Decent game in the end. Second half better than the first. Thanks for watching.

Mexico’s keeper (who is a clown) celebrates their equaliser:

Marquez scores:

GOAL! Mexico equalise. Barcelona’s Rafael Marquez. Composed finish from six yards.

South Africa’s Tshabalala (centre) scores his side’s first goal:

GOAL! South Africa, the hosts, score the first goal of the 2010 World Cup! Siphiwe Tshabalala scored it. Triffic finish after swift counter-attack. Against the run of play really, though Bafana Bafana started second half with more intent.

* * * * *

Half-time, 0-0. Mexico should be in the lead, had much the better of the first half. Vela’s tap-in disallowed for offside. Correct decision.

Prince Albert, the royal named after a cock ring…

Giovani never looked this good for Spurs…

Hosts started very nervously but getting into the game more now. Gio Dos Santos lively.

    … Never

  3. Chris says:

As usual Jum Buglin gets it completely wrong.

If Rafa Marquez’ subtly disguised finish was scuffed then I’m a monkey’s brother-in-law.

i would like to point that in the third photo from the bottom, the guy’s world cup novelty glasses look precisely like a cock and balls.

not wanting to sound base but the guy is sporting an enormous and veiny erection on his forehead.

  5. Keith South Africa says:

Paul and Ollie get out of my country, we don’t need jerks like you here!

Spectator LOL isn’t that veiny thing supposed to be the world cup?
