World Cup Photos: Italy 1-1 Paraguay, Group F – Mamma Meh

By Ollie Irish

Full-time 1-1: Another utterly forgettable match, between two unlovable, diving teams, passes into history. Yawn.

GOAL! Daniele De Rossi after awful judgment from Paraguay’s keeper.

Second half just started.

Alcaraz’s goal:

GOAL! Paraguay just scored (Alcaraz)! Minor shock on the cards here.

Chucking it down in Cape Town tonight…

Doesn’t look like a game full of goals. Mexican Wave started early.

  1. Paul says:

Paraguay play like England… Heartening stuff…

  2. Ben says:

Defence, defence, defence, defence.Hope Brazil will destroy Korea scoring at least 7 goals.

  3. Luca says:

Honestly I cannot understand what is wrong about diving: if you are in the penalty area and cannot get a decent shoot at goal, you go and seek after a penalty, it is just the most reasonable solution, as four yeas ago Grosso wisely did against the Aussies. Nor do I buy the the-more-goals-the-better thing: all the good teams have always been built around and upon rock-solid defenses: think of Arrigo Sacchi’s AC Milan.
