Photos: Republic Of Ireland 0-1 Argentina – Offside Angel Di Maria FTW, Robbie Keane Joins 100 Club

By Ollie Irish

With Trap still laid up in hospital, Angel Di Maria, newly signed by Real Madrid, scored the only goal of a less-than-thrilling friendly at the Aviva in Dublin. He was offside, blatantly, but the goal stood (what do they say about the Irish and luck – not in football), thereby marring the occasion of Robbie Keane’s 100th cap for Ireland.

On a happier note, the home fans booed guest of honour Michel Platini.

A photo gallery of the match, in our new format (which we hope you prefer):

    @ RMFC
Higuaín wasn’t offside, Di Maria WAS. When Higuain touches the ball to Di Maria he is offside (not by much, but he was indeed).

  7. dan says:

@RMFC, it was offside cos higuain touched it, then di maria took it, who was offside when higuain touched the ball
