In Pictures: Leeds United 0-4 Cardiff City – Bothroyd Strikes Twice

By Ollie Irish

What a rousing win for Cardiff, their biggest ever at Elland Road in fact. Jay Bothroyd scored twice, but it was Craig Bellamy who caught the eye. The Welsh forward hasn’t only added quality to the Bluebirds, he’s also raised the confidence levels of every one of his team-mates. You can’t put a price on such an effect.

At this rate, and if Bellamy stays fit, Cardiff have to be live contenders to win the division and gain promotion to the Premier League. If that did happen, I wonder if Bellamy would decide to make his loan move from Man City permanent?

For shaky Leeds, promotion even via the playoffs looks a long way off. Mid-table consolidation might be the best finish they can hope for this season.
