Because the world has officially disappeared up its own trumpet, a university in Canada is now offering a sociology course centred entirely around one man: Cristiano Ronaldo.

University of British Columbia lecturer Luis Aguiar is the man behind the class, claiming he got the idea to put on a Ronaldo course while watching the Portuguese star strutting around at the World Cup.

According to the man himself, Aguiar’s course focuses on Ronaldo’s ascension to global superstardom and the social and personal repercussions thereof.

Meh. Staffordshire University got their first with their 12-week course studying the ramifications of David Beckham’s various haircuts back in 2000.

That said, if the coursework is watching Real Madrid games then we’re in.
