Dating from 28th September, 1983, here’s the wonderfully bawdy cover of the match programme for Aberdeen’s Cup Winner’s Cup first round tie against Icelandic side IA Akranes.
Shot in the airport departure lounge, the cover sees Gordon Strachan getting acquainted with a young lady named Tricia.
Tricia was apparently hired by the players’ wives to sing them a telegram before they all flew out to Gothenburg for the previous year’s final – in which the Dons shocked Real Madrid with a 2-1 victory…
