According to reports from Italy, Udinese captain Danilo Larangeira rather lost it during training recently, with his behaviour leaving not one, not two but three of his team-mates needing treatment.

The Brazilian defender apparently went on a tough-tackling spree during a training session, with  Iraqi international Ali Adnan, Venezuelan forward Adalberto Penaranda and Francesco Lodi all left injured and needing attention from the club’s medical staff.

Not surprisingly, the incident lead to some rather heated exchanges, with the training game stopped twice before eventually being cut short by coach Gigi Del Neri.

Serie A side Udinese are obviously less than impressed with their captain’s behaviour, with sporting director Nereo Bonato saying:

We expect the player to issue an apology, that is the absolute minimum.

Before we can take any other action we want to understand what caused this inexplicable behaviour.

The 32-year-old Danilo is no stranger to controversy, having been accused of racism while playing in Brazil as well as fighting with teammate Michele Pazienza four years ago.

While a fine is highly likely for the ex-Palmeiras star, he may also be stripped of the club captaincy which would hardly come as a shock to anyone.
