If it wasn’t for a certain pint-sized Argentinian genius, Cristiano Ronaldo would be head and shoulders above every other footballer on the planet.

At the weekend, the Portuguese superstar was at it again, netting a cheeky backheeled goal to give league leaders Real Madrid a vital 1-0 win in a local derby game. Here’s the goal, which was Ronaldo’s 29th of the campaign…

great improvisation but also unbelievably bad defending and goalkeeping. pathetic! himself and messi really are miles ahead of any attackers anywhere else in the world. a joy to behold. just shows you how over hyped rooney really is. why can’t he reach this level? he has all the tools in the locker. mentally weak i suppose. shitter teammates maybe.

incredibly lucky, but to be fair he is incredibly cocky enough to give him the chance to score that

    great job defending, rayo!!

Looking at this majestic red Real Madrid kit makes me realise what Liverpool will be missing next season when Warrior Sports take over kit duty.

Ronaldo is way more fun to watch than messi, also I hate that little rat messi

WTF why is this the goal of the day? It’s more pure luck and bad defending than anything. Why not pick a goal that demonstrates skill?

I agree with dc. He became a heroic ‘genius’ by being cocky (and selfish) enough to try something nobody else would’ve thought of, or been too scared to try. And it worked due to general paralysis in the opposing defence. If it hadn’t worked (let’s face it, what are the mathematical chances of that ball finding its way through a fairly packed goalmouth and into the net?) he’d have been criticised for trying to show off and do ‘the impossible’ instead of passing to a team mate facing in the right direction. Reminds me of Higuita’s handstand save when playing for Colombia – risk laden, but provided one of football’s most magical moments!

HIS JUST TOO GOOD FOR YOUR GUYS TO KEEP TALK BAD ABOUT HIM ND BELIEVE ME MESSI IS A GOOD PLAYER BUT CR7 IS JUST INCREDIBLE PLAYER WITH AN INTERTAIN FOOTBALL IS THE ONE TO WATCH ON THE FIELD NOT MESSI BCOZ HE PLAYS STRAIGHT FOOTBALL… CR7 PLAYS INCREDIBLE

there’s absolutely no talent display! Bad goalkeeping and defending is more evident than the goal!

  16. c’est un genie il est un grand

  17. Don garry says:

nice goal, but then its literally a football crime to compare him wit messi.as commentators will say, messi is not of this world.
