Striker Lofts Ball Over Stranded Keeper, Substitute Keeper Runs Onto Pitch And Makes Heroic Save! (Video)
By Chris Wright
Clean through on goal in an Argentinian lower league game, Bell Ville’s striker lofts the ball past San Martin’s goalkeeper and rightly assumes that he’s got himself on the scoresheet.
Unfortunately for the Belle Ville forward, San Martin’s substitute keeper (who was warming-up behind the goal) had spotted the danger early and ran onto the pitch to help his buddy out in his hour of need – with Belle Ville then unable to make the subsequent indirect free-kick count…
We like to imagine that, having been told to bugger off, the reserve keeper clicked his fingers, pointed at his No. 1 as he walked past and said “everybody gets ones” before moseying off into the sunset.

Bit of an bizarre place to put the free-kick.
Indirect penalty not FK.
Actually it would be an indirect free kick.
certainly should’ve just said that it stood as a goal and sent the reserve keeper away. what a cock up
Actually the team shoulve just let em score the goal like in this classic:

Super sub
Whoever came up with the phrase “Cheats never prosper” was clueless
Did the sub-keeper get a red? And, the free kick should have been closer to the goal. I would have had the longest run up and blasted it right into them as hard as I could.
Love the dramatic save from the sub keeper.
Something to prove to the coach?
South American lower leagues must be the most unfair leagues to play in. There’s a total disregard for the rules of football and all the crazy shit seems to happen there.
@Patrick: the laws of the game dictate that an indirect free kick resulting from an offence inside the 6-yard box (or “goal area”) is to be taken on the edge of the box. One of the most obscure laws to be sure, and good on the ref for knowing it. Whether an indirect free kick was the right punishment in the first place is another matter…
