Gerard ‘Piquenbauer’ Pique Scores Sweet Goal vs Malaga, Celebrates With Thumb Suck (Video)

In which, once again, Barca’s silky centre-half Gerard Pique does the kind of thing that would give English centre-halves nosebleeds; shimmies to shake his marker, brings the ball down on his chest, slots away a nifty finish then celebrates with a thumb suck as a tribute to his newborn sprog…

Barcelona went on to win 2-4 to waft through to the Copa Del Rey semis (they’ll now face Real Madrid), with goals from Pedro, Pique, Andres Iniesta and Leo Messi.

Full highlights (Iniesta’s goal, or more specifically the one-two with Cesc beforehand, is defeinitely worthy of a watch)…

   Seriously, though, what was Pique doing there? It’s not like it’s a corner or anything. Is he a striker now?

   you can argue the he didn’t deserve this years FifproX1… and I doubt he will ever reach the elite tackle/shutdown defending status of the legends like nesta, cannavaro, his captain puyol, or even …must not say it… John Terry. But I’ve said it, heard it, and believe it: Pique would be a top 5 center forward in the more physical leagues such as in England, scotland, etc..
