Xerez’s Ernesto Galan Scores Exquisite Flicked Backheel Lob Own Goal To Lose Game In 95th Minute (Video)
By Chris Wright
Oh Ambassador, you’re really spoiling us with the own-goals this morning.
Following hot on the heels of Galatasaray ‘keeper Fernando Muslera somehow managing to lob himself using the heels of his teammate, here’s Xerez CD defender Ernesto Galan doing it all on his own, flicking a delightful backheel lob over his his ‘keeper and into the back of the net against Sabadell in the Spanish second tier at the weekend…
Gorgeous, technically sound, audacious and it lost his side the game in the 95th minute.
In short, Galan’s effort was everything a great own goal should be. Sadly though, good as it was, we’re yet to find a true rival for Festus Baise quite yet…
