After the Los Angeles leg of the “Messi & Friends” rolling revue was sacked off 24 hours before kick-off earlier in the week, the charity football tour culminated in Chicago last night as planned, with the opposing “World XI” squad (which featured the likes of Thierry Henry, Florent Malouda and Alex Song) being padded with local college players for the match at Soldier Field.

One of them, Matt Eliason, former college player with the Northwestern Wildcats, did this after half an hour…

Congrats Matt, you’ve just earned yourself one hell of an anecdote!

What a pass from Henry and what a hit son… Something we miss in the English Premier League, and glad the lad was drafted in the team, you must never underestimate the potential of a player, even if he’s an amateur. I’ve played with many in my country, and some are better than Messi ;)

Seems Messi has no friends who can defend. No one anywhere near him, no one even in motion to the ball!

Not taking anything away from the goal, it was a sweet kick.

    Fantastic shot. Someone sign him.
