Given that he’s had the bare-faced temerity to not score scorching 30-yarders every week since his golazo-laden World Cup jaunt, there is a certain line of thought that James Rodriguez’s start to life at the Bernabeu has been a little, well…y’know…underwhelming.
Granted that while he’s been nowhere near as electric as he was out in Brazil, the Colombian forward looks like he’s gradually easing back into top form – and his magnificent volley against Granada today is testament to that.
Latching onto a flick from Karim Benzema, Rodriguez turned and lashed an absolute peach of a volley into the far corner to put Madrid 2-0 up…
Nicely done that man!
Rodriguez then went on to grab his second as Madrid cantered to a 4-0 away victory that sent Los Blancos back to the summit of La Liga…
