It may not be particularly pretty but Demba Ba has definitely put a decent amount of man hours into developing his own personal style over the years: that of an unsure newborn foal taking its first steps out onto a frozen lake.
However, what he lacks in finesse he more than makes up for in impact, having netted 19 goals in 25 appearances for Besiktas so far this season – the last of which came against the pithily-named Mersin İdmanyurdu Spor Kulübü at the weekend.
As per, the finish couldn’t have been more “Demba Ba”…
The goal against Mersin very much mirrored Ba’s very first goal for the Black Eagles, with the Senegalese striker getting himself off the mark in textbook fashion in a Champions League qualifier against Feyenoord back in August by bumbling into the six-yard box and bobbling one in off his arse crevice…
Oh Demba, don’t ever change.
