While a certain Lionel Messi was breaking yet more records, this time registering his 23rd hat-trick for Barcelona in his 300th league game for the club, Luis Suarez also produced a moment of magic in his side’s 5-0 thrashing of Levante.

With the Catalan giants already 4-0 up, the former Liverpool star rose to fire home a superb scissor-kick from Adriano’s cross. The Uruguayan is yet to produce his best form on a regular basis in La Liga, but goals like this are sure to help.

In fairness, Suarez has been excellent since joining Barca. He has fit into the “trident” really well and, whilst not scoring freely, his has become an integral part of the team within half a season, with an outstanding assist rate (3rd best in the team after Messi and Neymar, I think).

For all of his faults, he has taken to the “Sanchez” role and as soon as he gets some confidence (he has scored a few in the last couple of games), the Barca frontline will be frightening. Given how ropey Barca’s defence can be, they will need as many goals as they can get in the coming months!
