Famed for his physical presence in the middle of Crystal Palace’s midfield, hirsute anchorman Mile Jedinak also has a penchant ofor fine free-kicks. Against World Champions Germany in Kaiserslautern on Wednesday evening, the 30-year-old curled home a classy free-kick on 50 minutes to put the Socceroos 2-1 up (Marco Reus and James Troisi scored in the first-half).

However, Jedinak’s hopes of bursting the World Champ’s bubble was itself burst by Arsenal/Inter Milan’s misfiring selfie-king Lukas Podolski, who fired home the equaliser on 81 minutes.

Arguably, German ‘keeper Ron-Robert Zieler should have done better, but it’s still a fine ‘hit’, as Alan Hansen would’ve said!
