In Sunday’s early top-flight clash between Genoa and Palermo at the Luigi Ferraris, the hosts registered a resounding 4-0 win, with the Rossoblu’s fourth goal a thing of perfectly-executed beauty.
Leonardo Pavoletti had already got himself onto the scoresheet in the second-half when, late on, the striker bagged his second of the game, courtesy of a beautiful scissor-kicked volley which thundered into the back of the Palermo net…
“That’s outrageous!” A stunning scissor-kick from Leonardo Pavoletti caps a fine performance from @GenoaCFC. https://t.co/pSF3PdSlCw

To be fair to the visitors, they were only 1-0 down (to a goal from ex-Liverpool attacker Suso) before the sending-off of Sinisa Andjelkovic scuppered their plans of getting anything out of the game. Still, Pavoletti’s effort would’ve been a worthy match-winner in any fixture, and helped Genoa leapfrog Palermo into 16th place in the Serie A table.
