They may well have found themselves on the wrong end of a home beating, but Motherwell definitely took the style points in Friday night’s Scottish Premiership 3-1 defeat to Aberdeen.
Indeed, the hosts’ consolation goal was a bit of a pearler, with Scott McDonald tucking away a wonderful (if slightly unorthodox) overhead kick in off the underside of the crossbar…
Lovely stuff. A doff of the cap is due to the most Scottish-sounding Aussie in football.
Sadly, however, the beauty of McDonald’s finish quickly paled in comparison to a passage of play that followed shortly thereafter.
Trailing 2-1 with five minutes to go before half-time, ‘Well won a penalty that striker Louis Moult was subsequently tasked with dispatching.
What followed was a frantic flurry of footballing art…
😂😂😂😂
How on earth has that stayed out in the Motherwell/Aberdeen game pic.twitter.com/duF8lpj92L

We believe the appropriate Scottish word is ‘stramash’.
