Everyone went nuts for Ezequiel Calvente’s switch-hit penalty, but of course he wasn’t the first to pull it off. Argentine forward Jorge Reinoso did it in 1991, whilst playing for Racing Avellaneda in a playoff against Boca Juniors. And no doubt it’s been done off camera on other occasions.

Thierry Henry goofing around with a couple of switch kicks in a warm-up, back in his Arsenal days:
