Wonder Goals: Koblenz’s Michael Stahl Scores From An Insane Distance

By Chris Wright

Koblenz, who play in the third division of German football, shocked 2.Bundesliga outfit Hertha Berlin in the German DFB Pokal (domestic cup) over the weekend, running out 2-1 winners thanks to an outrageous effort from midfielder Michael Stahl who managed to find the net from a full 61 metres out!

…although I will be taking a point off because of the bounce.

Coincidentally, Stahl’s wundertor came on the same weekend that Augsburg’s Uwe Mohrle also managed to score (albeit a little more fortuitously) from inside his own half…

ach du liebe indeed!

I remember scoring a goal like that in sunday league. I was usually a goalkeeper but got lumped into playing left back on that day (no joke). Lobbed a goalkeeper who is 6ft+
