Wonder Goal: Hibernian striker Anthony Stokes impersonates Zidane against Rangers

Anthony Stokes, Rangers v HIBERNIAN, 24 October 2009

If Zinedine Zidane had scored this, we’d all be purring until Christmas. Stokes doesn’t have the star appeal of Zizou – and he’s had his fair share of problems off the pitch – but he’ll remember what he did at Ibrox yesterday for the rest of his life. As will many Hibs fans. A special goal indeed.

Bit of a flukey last touch for me. Just poked at it and it happened to loop in. Nice control though.

The buildup on that goal was gorgeous. The assist really typifies the SPL laser beam passing game.

Stokes was tutored by the best – he was an Arsenal trainee
