Bloody Show-Off: Oussama Assaidi Scores Fancy Pants Disallowed Goal vs Groningen (Video)

By Chris Wright

In which Heerenveen forward Oussama Assaidi gets pipped by the offside trap during his side’s 3-0 Eredivisie win over Groningen at the weekend and runs through, rounds the ‘keeper and flicks a doozy of a trick-shot into the empty net regardless…

I’m sure I wasn’t alone in willing Assaidi to fall arse-over-tit there.

Any road up, there are bigger issues to discuss. Remember when Robin van Persie saw a second yellow for shooting a split-second after the whistle had gone for offside in the Nou Camp not so very long ago?

Surely then, in the interests of consistency, Assaidi’s little post-whistle show-boatery warrants a straight red and a life-time ban?

If you’ll excuse us, we just need to make a quick phone call to the KNVB.

The kit is the flag of the region of Friesland, which has its own identity, language and culture. It’s a ‘special region’ of the Netherlands, reflected in their football club.
