Here we see Stoke manager Tony Pulis getting up at the crack of dawn to run through the streets of Stoke-on-Trent in the drizzle with that confounded Olympic torch that ever Tom, Dick and Harry has been carting across the land for the past fortnight.

On the plus side, he was accompanied by a small horde of Saxon warriors..

We just know there’s a punchline in there somewhere but, quite frankly, we’re too jaded to find it.
